Prior to joining Argosy University, Dr. Ryan was Vice President for Academic Affairs
at Regent University where he served as the institution's Chief Academic Officer.
Prior to joining Regent University, Dr. Ryan served as the Supreme Court Judicial
Fellow in the Office of Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist at the Supreme Court of
the United States. In that role, he worked with all three branches of the federal
government and represented the federal judiciary in work with hundreds of
representatives of foreign judiciaries. During his tenure at the Supreme Court, he
served during the historic cases surrounding the 2000 U.S. presidential election.

Dr. Ryan has had a career in teaching both history and law in state, private and
Christian university and law school contexts. The recipient of numerous outstanding
teaching awards, he increasingly assumed administrative responsibilities that led
him to chair academic departments and serve at the vice presidential level at other
higher education institutions.

In his legal career, Dr. Ryan's experience includes serving as a corporate litigator
in San Francisco law firm of Farella, Braun & Martel, as well as being involved in
various other law-related activities in both volunteer and professional capacities.

He has also held a number of government positions, both as an appointed
representative and as a staff member of local government agencies. Dr. Ryan has also
been a guest on National Public Radio (NPR) and MSNBC serving as an expert on a
number of governmental issues.

He holds a Ph.D. in Renaissance and Reformation History (\"With Distinction\") from
the University of California, Santa Barbara; a J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law,
the University of California, Berkeley; a M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary;
and a B.A. (magna cum laude) in History from Westmont College. In addition, he was a
visiting scholar at the Warburg Institute of the University of London and Vice Chair
and Trustee of the Tyndale Society, Oxford, England.
